Isabella Grace
For those of you who are unaware, Art & I were blessed with our fifth child on October 18th, 2000. She is now 4 years old and quite the handful.
She is constantly on the go, much like Jonathan, and has a smile continually ready. She is quite a charmer and can make the grouchiest person smile. She has absolutely no fear and has the scars to prove it! We often joke that Rebekah prayed for a girl and Nathan prayed for a boy...so God gave us Isabella! She reminded us so much of her older brother, Ruben, but has now also taken on the rest of them!
Speaking of siblings, with four older ones, she's not about to be left behind! She runs after them constantly, demanding her share of attention.
As for her health, Isabella was diagnosed with severe food allergies at 4 months of age. Mom & Dad knew something was wrong, but had no idea what food allergies even were. Mom nursed her until she was 2 1/2 staying on a restricted diet to keep Isa healthy and safe.
We've learned all about foods we'd never heard of and it's a good thing that mom likes to cook because there wasn't anything pre-made that Isabella or Mom could eat for the longest time! Mom has created recipes and meals from things she never would have thought of in her quest to keep life as normal as possible for Isa.!
Armed with an epi pen & much research, we've toughed this thing out for almost five years now! Isa is fatally allergic to peanuts, tree nuts, and dairy; severely allergic to eggs. We now have her off all medication (unless we have to use the epi) and continue to have faith in God as we continue on.
