What a Treasure She is to Us
Rebekah is now 10. She is doing quite well in math. She loves to have stories read to her, and loves to go to the library. She does struggle with reading, but after spending 12 weeks in intensive Vision Therapy, she has made milestones! Rebekah was also diagnosed with dyslexia this past year. She and Mom have worked hard to teach her in a way that works for her and she is reading on her own more and more now. She is also starting to write on her own now and even has a pen pal.
Rebekah spends most of her time in gymnastics. God has given her a true gift in this area and boy does she love it! She joined a competitive home school program for gymnastics, working out in the mornings instead of all night and absolutely loves it! It is hard work having a child compete in a sport (we have one in competitive gymnastics and one in competitive soccer!), but we believe in encouraging our children in what they love to do! Rebekah finished her first year competing winning numerous titles, including Nevada State Champion for her age level. She has also made it to National recognition by participating and making it to the 2003 USA TOPS National Gold Level...one of the only two girls from the state of Nevada to make it this far. She has advanced to a Level 8 starting this fall, complete with her own routines and music. She has many titles, including State Champ for two years in a row, but has not let it go to her head. Rebekah also loves to play *mommy*. Now that she finally has a sister, she is ecstatic. Of course, she also won't be outdone by Nathan, and is as tough as any of the boys, climbing those trees right along with them!
On the other hand, she's also all girl, already developing a love for the phone. She also loves to create her own styles, whether it be hair, clothes, etc. Mom thinks she'll either end up being a gymnast or a fashion designer...or both!
